Yalda-Tuome is located in the vicinity of Amaro-Burji on the east, Gardula on the west, Lake Chamo on the north, Lake Chewbaher and Segen river in the south. Yalda-Tuome has a very attractive geologic structure that combines paleontological and archaeological features. The site is rich in large animal fossils and lithic artifacts belonging to the Pleistocene epoch. The site was first discovered by researchers from Addis Ababa University under the directorship of Dr. Alemseged Beldados.
